Busy makin’

“The projects I’ve been working with are definitely a work in progress with research and development. So I’ve been creating some sort of sketchbook idea for future projects. ”

Busy wearin’ and busy learnin’. Haus of Wolf and Swallow is a huge passion project for me, especially since I am not very good at making professionally finished pieces so I am starting with what I know and keeping in practice with making the wearable art pieces that I love so much. I keep myself making something at least once a week. But I wasn’t filming as much due to feeling what I concluded burnt out. So I still kept making so that I am consistently getting something made slightly better than the previous and in some cases, in a more efficient approach. So I can produce items I will be happy to sell.

I want to be as sustainable as possible so being able to source different second hand fabrics and also appropriately ethically sourced yarns and other materials to use for creating which I am researching it all in drips and drabs as I buy apart from thrifting but all of the projects I’ve been working with are definitely a work in progress with research and development. So I’ve been creating some sort of sketchbook idea for future projects. Which I will include in the next few posts.

I have not knitted or crocheted much over the last while, so expect more of this in the winter months. Something happened and I lost all my knitting and crochet kits and yarns so there will be a haul video coming soon to a blog near you. I’ll include everything I use and I am repeat buying so I’ll share a review too over on Skyes Illustrated Review for those!

I’ll be knitting and crocheting another cropped jumbo yarn cardigan jacket soon and I will make a few sketchbook pages for these to go alongside the video. So you can see the working ideas flow with behind the project final garment.

And another knitting project is to come about too within the next few months will be a beautiful pastel cardigan that I’m going to knit with the finest of yarns. My heart beats differently for this project so there will also be a video for this too, with a follow along blog with extra details for the ones who want to see it.

A couple of patterns are making me a very happy Skye, which are something I affirm to stock in the shop which give my life so much joy. I love these ribbon tea towel upcycles. They’re simple and beautiful and I think cute too. I’ll be making them as I get the pattern right with the added bonus of thrifting them. I immediately regret leaving a few behind as they are beautiful and nostalgic.

I am also tempted to share a how to guide to making one on Haus of Wolf and Swallow so I’ll plan that for you and film it in steps. I was wondering if you would like me to share the research of making new sustainable sourced pieces. Do you want a video series for that because I would be happy to make that happen. I’ll share my goals and sources for materials too and anything else I’d find interesting and useful for us all.

Thank you for reading this and I look forward to writing the next one and filming the video too, it will be making a ribbon tea towel top with a how to guide video and a photo journal and written guide so you can follow along.
